Level 1 · Foundations

Start with things you already understand.

No charts on day one. You start with what a company is, why prices move, and how a little money can grow over time.

STEP 2

Practise with play money

Try buying your first fund with $10,000 that isn't real. See what happens without risking a cent.

STEP 3

Earn your MyFi Degree

When you finish a level, take its exam. Pass and you earn a crest that sits beside your name.

Your first month

One small step at a time.

Here's roughly where a lesson a day takes you. Go faster or slower. It's your pace.

  1. Day 1What is a company?

And why some sell slices of themselves.

  2. Day 4Why do prices move?

    Buyers, sellers and news.

  3. Week 1How money grows

    Compounding, in plain English.

  4. Week 2Index funds, explained

Why so many people start here.

  5. Month 1Read a real chart

The one that looks scary today.

One dayGreen: the price went upRed: the price went downThin line: the day's high to low
This is a stock chart. It won't look scary for long.

Each bar is one day. By the end of your first month you'll read these on your own, and know what they can and can't tell you.

Our promises

No jargon. No real money. No pressure.

“Dividend”?A slice of a company's profit, paid to you.

No jargon

New words come with a plain-English meaning. Tap any dotted word to see it.

No real money

Nothing you do here touches a real account. You learn first, and decide later, in your own time.

No pressure

Get one wrong? It comes back later until it clicks. No hearts, no lives, no penalties.

Questions

Questions beginners ask us.

I know nothing about the stock market. Is this for me?

Yes. That's who it's built for. Level 1 assumes zero: it starts with what a company is and builds one small idea at a time.

How much does MyFi cost?

Finding your level and getting your 30-day plan are free. Full access is $2.99 a week or $9.99 a month, after a 7-day free trial. Paid plans open soon: during early access, nothing is charged.

Will you ask for my card?

Not for the free check or your trial. When paid plans open, we'll ask before any plan starts, and you can cancel any time.

Is there an age limit?

You can take the check at any age. Accounts are for people 13 and older, and if you're under 18, a parent or guardian approves payment when paid plans open.

Can I lose money here?

Not on MyFi. If you invest for real one day, that happens with a brokerage, and real investing always carries risk. Understanding that risk is a big part of what the lessons teach.

Is this financial advice?

No. MyFi teaches how the market works so you can make your own decisions. It never tells you what to buy.

How much time does it take?

Five minutes a day is plenty. Each lesson takes a few minutes, and you can stop whenever you like.

What if I miss a day?

Nothing bad happens. Your lessons wait right where you left them, and a new streak starts the next time you learn.
